Water Jet Cutting - up to 45o cutting
Scanfibers Water Jet Cutter is constructed with a 5 axis cutting technique, which enables it to cut in angles of 45o. Hereby Scanfiber can offer the most advanced technical 3D solutions.
The machine can cut in highly alloyed and tempered steel of up to 100 mm thickness. Additional materials can be cut in up to 120 mm and for non-ferrometals up to 150 mm.
Scanfiber can water jet cut following materials:
• All metals (aluminium, cobber, titanium etc.)
• Ceramics, rubber and wood
• Plastic material/Fiber composite
• Stone, tile, marble and granite
• Glass and Perspex
The Water Jet Cutter operates with two types of cutting. For the soft materials e.g. rubber, plastic and fiber materials, it is solely based on a jet of water. When cutting in harder materials, e.g. ceramics, titanium, granite and aluminium, a combination of water and fine-grained sand are used.
The advantage of water jet cutting, compared to traditional laser and plasma cutting, is the cold cutting process, which enables cutting in all types of material without exposing the fabric to any thermal stress. In other words, the risk of hardening in the cutting zone as well as distortion caused by surface tension is avoided.
The Water Jet Cutter is equipped with a CAD/CAM programming system, and thus Scanfiber can execute cutting assignments by sketch. We accept prospectus in following format:

• 1 unit of 90o cutting head with up to 3800 bar water pressure
• 1 drill unit

• Positioning accuracy: +/- 0,080 mm pr. 1.000 mm
• Repeating accuracy: +/- 0,050 mm
• Cutting speed of X-axis and Y-axis up to: 10.000 mm/min.
• Cutting height: max. 150 mm
